«There are some clouds on the sky that we cannot just close our eyes to, but we are confident that our business will continue to develop positively,» he told Reuters Insider TV in an interview on Wednesday.
Daimler earlier warned that strong demand for cars in the key emerging markets of China and India is likely to slow sharply as it reported weaker-than-expected revenues. But its quarterly operating earnings beat consensus.
«We are seeing risks, of course, as everybody does. Whether it’s the U.S. , Europe or China's fight against inflation, "Zetsche told Insider.
"But we see it as a much more likely that a good demand will continue. It is a combination of higher risk and volatility and strong demand in the future."
