Elizabeth Smart says the media played a key role in rescue

WASHINGTON – Elizabeth Smart says he accepted a job with ABC News, in part because he feels the media helped save his life.

The Utah woman who was abducted, raped and captivates the 14 years Salt Lake City preacher Street, serves as a commentator for ABC News focuses on missing persons and cases of child abduction.

The Smart 23 years old, told the Washington, DC, The Hill on Wednesday that the media play a key role in cases of missing persons. She says she could not have been rescued without media attention.

Smart was in Washington to urge lawmakers to restore funding for the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
