The Final Environmental Impact Statement has been released for the proposed new line of high voltage transmission between Springdale and Blackwall.
The line is needed by 2014 to meet the projected growth in electricity demand in southeast Queensland.
Powerlink COO Simon Bartlett, said the specialist environmental consultant Parsons Brinckerhoff had completed the final report of EIA for the project after detailed consideration of all submissions received last year on the draft EIA report.
"The report concludes that the final EIS, Powerlink always implements the recommendations in the report and the corresponding final environmental management plan, no environmental, social or economic reasons preventing the proposed procedure," said Bartlett.
"The report also confirms that the existing easements acquired to facilitate the project over 15 years are the most appropriate place for the final alignment of the new transmission line.
The final EIS identifies potential environmental, social and economic issues related to the design, construction and operation of the new proposed transmission line, and describes how these impacts will be managed and / or mitigate.
