"There are some clouds in the sky that can not close our eyes, but we are confident that our business will continue to develop positively," he told Reuters TV Insider in an interview Wednesday.
Daimler earlier warned that strong demand for cars in major emerging markets of China and India is likely to drop dramatically, as reported weaker than expected revenues. However, quarterly operating earnings beat consensus.
"We are seeing the risks, of course, like everyone else. Whether the U.S. , Europe or China's fight against inflation, "Zetsche told Insider.
"But we see it as a much more likely that a good demand will continue. It is a combination of higher risk and volatility and strong demand in the future."
