Street closings for Thursday’s Mercedes-Benz Corporate Run

The annual Mercedes-Benz Corporate Run 5K will take place Thursday and that means road closings in downtown Miami during the afternoon rush hour.

The race, which last year attracted 4,000 runners, officially starts at 6:45 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m. with a festival, music and food at Bayfront Park.

The race will snake up-and-down Biscayne Boulevard, on Brickell to Southeast 13th Street then to Second Avenue before making its way back to Biscayne Boulevard and Bayfront Park.

Here's what will be impacted:

Miami Dade Transit busses normally traveling along the affected road closure will be detoured.

Residents who live in areas where the race will pass will be allowed access on a "local traffic only" basis.

Officers will be placed along the closed streerts to provide with any assistance.

For Brickell Key residents, to enter or exit the key,residents can use Brickell Bay Drive and Southeast Eighth Street from the South.

All streets will re-open for vehicular traffic from at approximately 9 p.m.

The 2012 Mercedes-Benz Corporate Run 5 is marking its 27th running.
