Mercedes-Benz seeks to fuel ‘excitement’ in Taipei bargain hunters

The shopping perks are just the beginning. Capital Motors Inc. (CMI, the authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer in Taiwan, endeavors to educate the public on the world-renowned luxury brand through a special exhibit in the courtyard next to the Taipei 101.

From now until Oct. 4, popular Mercedes-Benz car models will be featured, including the highly anticipated new C-Class Coupe line. Other merchandise and collection items such as bags, shirts, caps, key chains and miniature models of the iconic car are also showcased in a sleek booth.

"With aims to create a unique shopping experience for the festival, we take pride in knowing that our products and services are top quality," said CMI Holdings Ltd. President A. A. Khoo (柯亞洪 at a press conference yesterday. "At our Taipei 101 display, everyone can witness the state-of-the-art performance of the Mercedes-Benz."

Managing Director John Good of CMI described the activity as bringing the "passion, excitement and heritage of Mercedes-Benz and CMI to all of our customers, potential customers, and enthusiasts in the market. "

"We are developing, building and expanding the market for discerning motorists in Taiwan," Good said, revealing that the luxury auto brand, which has deftly weathered the worst of the economy downturn, is doing especially well this year.

Mercedes Benz is experiencing a very "buoyant" market in 2011, described Good, as one who has served as CMI managing director for the past three years.

A special performance will be held tonight at a Mercedes-Benz sponsored party, featuring musical celebrities and a runway show. Tickets to the party are available at various CMI exhibition centers, although prospective revelers should move swiftly in order to snatch the limited spots.

The Taipei Shopping Festival, which kicked off in late August, allows consumers to get great deals and perks from the most coveted brands in 2,802 stores around the city. Shoppers can participate a lucky draw and try their chances of driving away with the Mercedes-Benz C180 BlueEfficiency, valued at NT$1,820,000.
