Panel Clears Gahcho Kue Environmental Impact Review

A Gahcho Kua © environmental impact review panel concluded that the statement of the diamond mine environmental impact statement (EIS complied with the terms necessary for paving the way for a full environmental impact review.

Under the work plan and schedule review process Gahcho Kue environmental impact is expected to be completed in July 2013. © Gahcho Kua The project is located in Kennady Lake, about 280 kilometers northeast of Yellowknife and 90 km southeast of the mine from De Beers Snap Lake diamond. Gahcho Kue plans to recover 4.5 million carats annually. Three kimberlite pipes, 5034, Hearne and Tuzo is removed through a method of strip mining for the life of 11 years.
