Mercedes Benz driver was nervous to do the accident report – Sgt.

: The Mercedes Benz driver involved in accident that killed former Batu Sapi MP Datuk Edmund Chong Ket Wah, was visibly nervous when making a report on the incident to the police station in Kota Kinabalu.

Sergeant Amir Khalil, 53, who took the report said that although the driver of the car seemed normal and healthy, looked nervous and worried.

Amir, who is the ninth witness, said this when answering a question by counsel for Chin Tek Ming, who is carrying out an observation mission of the family of the late Edmund.

The research, which entered its sixth day yesterday, was called to determine the cause of the death of Edmund's when the Kawasaki motorbike riding powerful collided with a Mercedes Benz on October 9 last year at Jalan Tanjung Aru-Sembulan coastal road around 11.40 am.

The research was heard before Deputy Principal, Melissa Chia, who sits as judge.

Amir said the public transit tax, Chief Inspector Watt Enchana Wilynton presented three reports on that fateful day at the station after he reported for duty for the shift from 3:00 p.m. to 23:00.

The reports were made by the Mercedes driver, operator of vendors because, Welmi Abdul Latif, who is the sixth respondent and also the only witness in the accident, and an arrest report by the inspector who is also Hafiz investigating officer of the case. Amir said the arrest report was done to stop the Mercedes driver.

He told the inquiry that the Mercedes driver went first to present the report before Welmi. Both arrived at the police station in a separate space for about 30 minutes. He said he took the statement on the basis of information that gave the Mercedes driver and Welmi respectively.

He also said Deputy Public Prosecutor Raja Faridah Zaizul Zaharuddin, who had no knowledge that the registration number of the bike was wrong in the two reports before they made a correction in the second report after being informed by Cape AzMan Hussin, who seemed to confirm the correction by the declarant eighth yesterday.

Meanwhile, Welmi, who suffered from high blood pressure on Monday and returned to the witness during the session yesterday afternoon to appear a little pale despite having taken a break.

She agreed with counsel Anggang Nelson, who is carrying out an observation mission for the Mercedes driver, who initially refused to be a witness in the case approached by a plainclothes police officer on the scene.

"He (the police asked me to be a witness, and he told me not to be afraid, only reporting what I saw," said Wilmi.

He also agreed with Nelson, as well as the registration number of the motorcycle, which was given by the police, all the testimony and the statement that he relied on the account of what he saw during the accident.

However, Welmi said he could not remember if the Mercedes driver had slowed his car that day after his passing car in the right lane near the light pole for the first time after marriage meaningless.

He also agreed with counsel after the accident, got out and walked toward the car Mercedes Benz car and the driver asked her to be his testimony by saying that "he (the victim is the one that crashed into his car.

He agreed that the accident happened in split seconds and told the judge what he saw. The investigation continues today.
