The NRC approved the AP1000 design in December 2011. In February, it
approved COLs for two new units at the site of the Vogtle nuclear plant in
Georgia and in March approved COLs for two units at the site of the V.C.
Summer plant in South Carolina. Both would employ the Westinghouse reactors.
