SACRAMENTO (CBS13 – A high-speed chase ended with a car theft suspect's arrest after he tried to flee on foot at a south Sacramento trailer park Thursday morning.
The chase began about 7:30 a.m. when a silver Mercedes with the keys in the ignition was stolen in the 7200 block of Rock Creek Way, Sacramento police said. The owner apparently started the car to warm it up.
The chase, which reached speeds up to 85 mph, ended at a trailer park near Lemon Hill Avenue and Stockton Boulevard. Police used dogs to search for the suspect and asked the residents of the mobile home park to stay inside while the search was under way.
The man, whose name wasn't immediately available, was arrested shortly before 9 a.m.
A few hours later in the Oak Park area, a vehicle has plowed through a lawn, a fence and finally into a garage in the 3400 block of 43rd St. The driver left the car and ran away. No one was injured.
