Draft environmental impact statement issued – Agri

On Nov. 8 the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin
(Commission and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources
jointly issued a draft environmental impact statement (EIS for a
transmission line being proposed by Dairyland Power Cooperative
(DPC, Northern States Power Company (Xcel Energy, and Wisconsin
Public Power, Inc. (WPPI. This project is known as the Alma La
Crosse 345 kV Transmission Line (CapX2020 Transmission Project,
PSC docket 5 CE 136.

Copies of the draft EIS have been mailed to members of the public
who previously requested them and to government agencies and
municipalities within the project area. Copies were also provided
to project-area public libraries.

A digital (pdf format copy of the draft EIS may be downloaded
directly from the PSC’s website at http://psc.wi.gov or interested
parties may request a digital copy on DVD. The PSC also has a
limited number of hard copies available for those lacking access to
a computer.

The comment period ends on Dec. 23. Comments on the draft EIS
should focus on the quality and accuracy of the document. Send
