Lock firm’s touring trailer to stop in Orangeville Sunday

The Weiser Smart Security Tour (WSST will be at the Home Depot in Orangeville this Sunday – one of 66 stops in Ontario and Quebec planned for this summer.

The 56-foot Weiser demonstration trailer will be at Home Depot from noon to 4:00 p.m. functioning as a mobile showroom for product experts to demonstrate the innovations behind Weiser's locksets, including SmartKey re-key technology, SmartCode electronic locks and Weiser's Key Control Deadbolt.

The WSST will give consumers a chance to learn more about Weiser's security technology, including informed demonstrations by product experts and the ability to have hands-on product demonstrations.

"This is the first time we've done a tour like this in Canada and we're really excited about helping consumers better understand some of the amazing technology we've introduced to make their homes safer and more secure," Mark Wallace, Senior Group Marketing Manager, said in a release. ""We've made huge technological advances in home security in recent years without making our locksets more complicated to use."

Visitors will be educated on SmartKey technology, SmartCode electronic locks and Key Control Deadbolt technology as part of the 2012 tour.

SmartKey technology allows homeowners to re-key their own locks quickly, and without removing the lock from the door. Partnered with the original key, homeowners will use the SmartKey learning tool before removing the original key and inserting the new key to be programmed into the lock.

Weiser's says the top five reasons this feature is good to have includes lost, stolen or unreturned keys, a recent move, increasing home security, onekey convenience for all Weiser locks, and remodeling, upgrading or updating.

Weiser's SmartCode electronic locks are a keyless solution for homeowners with an active lifestyle. Four AA batteries are behind permitting access with a personalized code. You can assign temporary codes for guests or contractors, change codes easily, and changing to a keyless entry deadbolt doesn't require any hard wiring so it can easily replace any existing door locks and deadbolts.

The Key Control Deadbolt is also featured as a solution to master keying. It is a solution that allows homeowners, landlords, etc., to have more flexible key management with a solution to master keying. The upper of two cylinders is concealed to provide one-key control for the property manager, while the re-key feature allows the user or control cylinder to be changed at any time in seconds and this feature also gives added security and key control for tenant and employee key turnover.

Visitors to the demonstration trailer will have the chance to win a number of event day prizes and can also enter to win a $5000 gift certificate from Signature Vacations.

"This tour will help us educate consumers by giving them the knowledge to improve their home security," said Mr. Wallace.
