New staff levels will hit pupils, says EIS

Teachers’ union the Educational Institute of Scotland (EIS in Edinburgh says changes by the authority put cost-cutting ahead of pupil welfare.

Edinburgh City Council’s new secondary schools management structure changes many senior teachers’ roles.

The union says this means staff who specialise in a subject will be responsible for staff specialising in another which they are not qualified to teach.
