Gates-based Light Fabrications Inc. has been acquired by EIS Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Atlanta-based Genuine Parts Co., the firms announced Monday.
Light Fab was founded in 1977 and is a custom-engineered fabricator of flexible materials. The company sells primarily to the medical, transportation and electronics markets.
Jim Cucinelli, president and founder of Light Fab, will continue in a leadership role with the company, he said. The deal will enable the company to provide additional resources and offerings to customers. The company has some 100 employees.
"The combined technical expertise and equipment capabilities for all the flexible materials we handle will create a very unique and powerful offering to the markets we serve," Cucinelli said in a statement.
Atlanta-based EIS is a distributor of process materials, production supplies, specialty wire and cable, and value-added fabricated parts. Primary markets for EIS are the electrical original equipment manufacturers, apparatus repair and various assembly markets. EIS supplies more than 100,000 products from 39 branches and five fabrication facilities located in North America.
